You received an email from Dare. Why ?
Dare users register on the platform to exercise their regulatory rights with thousands of companies. When you do not have an active Dare account, and a Dare user makes a regulatory request to your services, you automatically receive an invitation email asking you to answer.

Why does the request come from Dare?
Dare is a platform that connects DPOs with data subjects in order to centralize and easily manage their requests. Syned is not mandated by its users, and therefore Syned is not their legal representative; Syned does not act on the behal of its users. Dare is the communcation channel data subjects have chosen to reach you and to exercise their regualtory rights. They do not expect answer from you by any other means than Dare (email, forms, etc.).

How can you receive a request from Dare?
The only mean by which you can receive a request from Dare is the signed email of our server addresses and domain name.
You will not receive any invitations from Dare by text messages or phone calls.

How do you make sure it's not a phishing attempt?
Syned is a serious French company which, through Dare, aims to help both organizations and data subjects. We never send malicious emails. Our emails contain a signed and secure invitation link with a limited lifespan in order to minimize any security risk.

What information do you have during the first contact?
In order to ensure the seriousness of the request, the email you receive contains partial information about the data subject. Last names and email addresses are communicated to you but hashed, in order to preserve the privacy of our users. However, these two elements allow you to carry out an initial research in your systems.
How do you answer to the received request?

The information provided in the email is not sufficient?
Do you legitimately need to verify the identity of the data subject to respond to his request? The provided partial elements do not allow you to do so with certainty? Directly ask to the data subject more information using the Dare messenger.

Need an official proof of the data subject's identity ?
Dare allows you to share documents with data subjects. Many formats are supported. If your need is legitimate, you can request any type of documents or various information from the data subjects to validate their identity.

How to answer the request you have received?
The invitation email you receive from us contains a secure link to Dare. For security sake, and to ensure the integrity of your responses, we recommend that you only use this link to respond to your received requests. You will then access Dare's messenger system which will allow you to freely communicate with data subjects.

Why answering via Dare?
First, because it is the communication channel chosen by data subjects to send their requests and receive your answers. Second, because the European regulation of the RGPD commits you to answer data subjects.

What happens if you don't answer your pending requests?
European regulations commit all data controllers to answer to the regulatory requests they receive. Furthermore, data controllers cannot force a data subject to use any means of communication other than the one he/she has chosen.

What does Syned do if you refuse to answer?
Data subjects choose the satisfaction rating they wish to assign to you. They can also complain to their local regulator. In the case of a large number of unanswered requests from you, Syned might share them with the local regulator, after obtaining the explicit consent of data subjects.
