Is Dare a scam?
Legitimate question.
Dare the scam
anchorJoke
A platform different from the others is (unfortunately) suspicious
We created Dare to change practices of the digital world.
Need for trust
For our Dare platform to exist, we need your trust.
Our concern, transparency
This is why we strive, on this site, to answer all the questions you may have.
Dare responds to Syned values
Cotrust, security, respect and transparency are the values that drive us. These same values are at the heart of our projects that we develop in our free time.
Dare is free... Yes.
anchorFree
But not under any condition.
When a service is free...
Usually it is that the user is the product.
Everyone uses Google
And accepts the counterpart of its gratuity: our data is shared and sold.
Everyone uses Wikipedia
But no one is ready to support the platform even for 2€...
Would you be willing to pay for the services offered by Dare?
97% of users answer no.
So how do we get paid?
Thanks to the companies that subscribe to Dare to answer to your requests.
Why is Dare free?
Because it is in line with our values: our services are based on rights that every European has. Who could pay for rights he/se has ?
Dare tracks its users... No.
anchorTracking
But why ??
We are precisely seeking to change this habit that sites and applications have of tracking us. So it would be contrary to our beliefs.
No tracing, no ads. Nothing.
Dare doesn't do any audience measurement or tracking, etc. We even don't know when you're connected to it or not.
Dare uses a unique cookie on your device
This cookies is used for:
1- memorize your choice of display language (i18n)

Dare shares user data... No.
anchorSharing
We cannot advocate transparency without being transparent
Sharing or reselling data implicitly is another habit that we seek to change.
This practice would therefore be contrary to our convictions.

Dare has only one website. No.
anchorWebsite
Dare has 2 separate websites
The about.dare.syned.co site is powered by Wix
This site allows us to present Dare and to propose test pages, explanations, etc. With this website, you only have access to published content, not to your account.
Pros
We made this website with the Wix platform for cost, speed and flexibility reasons.
Cons
We cannot choose cookies and trackers. This is left to Wix.
Our advice: refuse all cookies in the banner and the tracking thanks to the link at the bottom of the page.
The platform website dare.syned.co belongs to us
The platform allows you to access your account. There is no external service that allows us to develop the tailor-made services we have in mind. So we had to develop them ourselves.
Pros
We are 100% in control of what we do and whether or not to trace, share or resell your data. Everything is in our hand.
Cons
The time and cost of development and maintenance, the multiple and specialized skills to found.
Future developments
When possible, we want to develop by ourselves this current website.
Thus, you will have no tracing, sharing and resale of your data. In accordance with our values and our commitments.
The application and the platform are different. No.
anchorPlaform
Cost issue
We have chosen to make an application that is identical in every point to the platform.
Webview
To do this, our application displays the platform pages in your mobile browser (without the browser being visible to you). It's called a webview.
The user therefore has the impression of benefiting from a real mobile app.
Identical...
Therefore, everything the platform does, and does not, is found in the mobile app.
... with one difference:
The mobile app has notifications managed by Firebase (exodus url link).
The legitimacy of Dare
anchorLegitimacy
Legitimacy is built, it cannot be decreed
In the digital world, do not trust a priori is healthy
We are the first to search, to be vigilant and to analyze in detail websites, platforms and services that we use.
Have the right reflexes
Get information on the web, from those around you, check the cookie refusal and tracking banners. For the bravest, read the privacy policy :-/
Our beliefs
Because we are a team of enthusiast and experienced specialists, we are committed to putting our knowledge at the service of as many people as possible. If we can make a living from it, that's even better. But not on the back of our users, because we have our convictions.
Dare wants to be a service for the public
Since 2018, European citizens have rights related to their personal data managed and stored by private and public organizations.
Dare was born out of the desire to make these rights accessible to everyone.
Dare will not exist without its users and their trust
The most skeptical will undoubtedly end up trying Dare when the others have tried before them and verified the veracity of our words. It is the users' experience that will confer legitimacy on the platform.
